It has been awhile sorry for the length
We are going to count this Valentines Day as our baby’s first. Even though she is not yet a real person she was a part of everything we did today. It started out with a lunch at Jason’s Deli because they have free soft serve ice cream. Due to this fact it seems that Kristin is suggesting we eat there weekly. I am told that this isn’t her idea it is just that “Baby wants ice cream.” After lunch it was off to get some needed baby gear, body pillow, Bella Band, and little baby hangers for the all the baby clothes we have received and bought.
The other half of our day Kristin and I may hold against her for a little while. But, before I tell you what happened I have to say this…I don’t know if it is Greenville or just getting into daycare is always ridiculously absurd. I have been hunting for a daycare since December and wasn’t anywhere close to getting into a good facility. The closest I had gotten was 6th on a waiting list. This same facility informed me that a lady had called in August in get put on the list and she wasn’t even going to get in. The Daycare system is almost as pitiful as the Medical School match system, and that is saying a ton. So I forged on and found a Baptist Church in Mauldin without a waiting list. The catch, the only way to get in is if they don’t fill all their openings with their members they open their facility to the community on a first-come first-serve basis. So…
After baby shopping Kristin and I found ourselves sitting in a Church parking lot waiting for a sign up sheet that would be posted “sometime Sunday evening.” Not sure what that entails, and sick of searching, Kristin and I show up at 3:45 in the afternoon, the next person showed up at 5:25pm. She informed us that after some pushing she found out the list would be posted between 6:00 to Midnight. Thankfully only 3 hours and Fifteen minutes later the sign appeared, and Baby Holoch was tops on the list. Problem solved right? Wrong. I have now earned the right to show back up at the Church at 6:00am, so when my name is called I can give them a completed application and $125. Then, and only then, will my yet unborn daughter have the option of starting daycare August 9th. Amazing
