Home Sweet Baby

Here is an update on how everyone and everything is going. First, Mom and Baby are doing well. Mom has taken the whole giving birth thing in stride. She has done so well we have been joking she was genetically built for making babies. She was even up and walking about 2 hours after Emmaline was born. Emmaline has had a little bit of a bumpier road than mom. We have had a couple of doctor visits due to her Jaundice and weight loss. We had to start to supplement a little formula to make sure she is getting enough to eat. We had a doctor’s appointment this morning and the doctor told us that we had turned the corner and she was started to look better. She has put on a good portion she had lost since being home and is getting pinker by the day.
Second, the first night with a new born baby is rough. Neither Kristin nor I got much sleep and it made for a very long night. We figured since we never put her down in the Hospital it made it hard for her to sleep by herself at home. We have made the adjustment to put her down during her naps in the days and it has helped dramatically. This coupled with getting her enough to eat has really help her sleep at night. The last couple of nights haven’t been too bad and we have gotten several hours of sleep each. It also helps that Emmaline is kind of a sleepy head in the morning and she doesn’t want to wake up before 9:00am.
Last, we love our baby girl SO freaking much and couldn’t imagine life without her. She is just so dang cute and tiny it is hard to leave her alone. I don’t want to go back to work on Tuesday and Kristin is already dreading going back to work in 6 weeks.
The pictures below are of our stay in the hospital and a couple of being home.
The first one is from her hearing test and both Kristin and I thought it look super funny.
